"The Zone" is indeed the same state of high performance and clarity that sportspeople fleetingly find themselves in and are forever striving for. Dr Sears believes that his few changes to the way we eat allow us to live in a similar state all day every day.
Unfortunately many Australians are perturbed by its Americanness - I think it sounds a bit hypey and faddy to us. Indeed I know of a few Australian proponents that avoid using the "Z" word altogether. (I think credit should be given where credit is due.)
But I hope if you're one of the dubious ones you'll look past the name to its underlying logic and indeed its longevity - it's a decade old now and still thriving.
it deserves the medal for the most enduring one in history.
